On the development of Fair Practice awareness in the European cultural sector
Satellite BEYOND – Fair Practice Design Sprint | 8–9 May 2026 | Amsterdam
This BEYOND brings together artists, cultural professionals, policymakers, funders and networks from across Europe to explore a central question: what does fairness in cultural labour look like in a cross-border European context.
Across two days, participants will move from lived experience in artistic practice to systemic change, examining the tensions between pay, passion and prestige that shape the cultural sector. Through an interactive design sprint with five phases, participants collaboratively develop practical interventions and translate them into potential policy proposals for the European level. The programme is moderated by Maaike Muis.

This BEYOND Satellite is organised by Kunsten ’92 and takes place within the wider Europe Day programme hosted by DutchCulture | Creative Europe Desk NL, European Cultural Foundation, and EIT Culture & Creativity.
